Thomas Isherwood's Will 1786
Description
An account of the resource
Photocopy of Thomas Isherwood's original last will dated 1786. He died in 1788.
Bequests were made to his wife Mary which included a property in Byron Street, Manchester; to his sons Thomas, Henry, John and James and his daughters Magdalen Barcroft, Hannah, Mary Ann and Margaret. He also described his intentions regarding the children of his first marriage. He appointed his wife Mary as sole Executrix.
The wills of the two eldest sons of Thomas Bradshaw Isherwood - Thomas and Henry, who died aged 22 (1791) and aged 26 (1801) respectively are to be found in the Map Drawers, in Drawer 2 Legal Section.

Two page typed transcript of the will of Mary Ellen Bradshaw Isherwood dated 1890.
Bequests such as a gold watch, tea kettle, punch ladle, pictures and books were made to son John, grandchildren Francis, John and daughter in law Elizabeth.
She also established trust funds in the name of George Victor Conyngham Cockburn Dickinson who "has been brought up by and lived with me ever since his babyhood". Her son John Henry Bradshaw Isherwood received other bequests and was named as sole Executor.
