Wesleyan Methodist : Handwritten Account : H Fletcher
Single page handwritten account of Wesleyan Methodist in the Marple area by Hugh Fletcher giving brief history from 1745 when John Wesley preached at the "Bongs".
Also small newspaper cutting "On the banks of the Bongs" with photograph and mention of the connection to John Wesley. Unknown publication and date.
From Hugh Fletcher (dec'd) collection. A member of Marple Antiquarian Society.
Donated by his Grandson J Harris in 2019.

Indenture : Waller /Walmsley & Wesleyan Methodists : 1845 : Parcel of Land
Photocopy of typed four page Indenture dated 20th December 1845 for a release of two parcels of land in Mellor between Thomas Waller, Cotton Manufacturer and John Braddock Walmsley and the Association called "Wesleyan Methodist Association" to erect building later called New Hill Methodist Church.
