a. 1894 : Shepley's Mill still only employs a portion of its former workpeople
b. 1900: Distruptive fire in a Marple Cotton Mill - fire broke out in the mule spinning department of Ridge Mill (Shepley Mill)
c. 1935 : The Passing of a Mill - Shepley Mill closed three years previously having been owned for most of its 120 years by the Sheply family
d. 1935 : Demolition of Mill : Three men injured. Transcript and photocopy of report from the Reporter 16th December 1935 describing the accident at Shepley Mill when the third floor on which three men were working collapsed, causing them to fall fifty feet.
