Extract from Reservoir Railways of the Yorkshire Pennines (Oakwood Press) 1979 (pp 296 - 302) with title "The Story of Enoch Tempest and his Locomotives" by Harold D Bowtell. Tempest (b 1843 and d 1908) was a railway contractor for construction of Longendale Dams as well as other reservoir works in the North of England and the Midlands. Extract includes photograph of Enoch Tempest.
