Archaeological Excavation Report 1992
Description
Two copies of Archaeological report from South Trafford Archaeological Group, of Marple Hall on the site of the Manor House in 1992.
This excavation was carried out by pupils of Marple Hall School over a period of three days under the direction of South Trafford Archaeological Group. Its aim was to investigate how accurately Stockport Council had followed the outline of the building when reconstructing the present platform. They established that the outline had been roughly followed. On the steep slope leading from the back of the Hall, a coat of arms painted on stone was recovered.
