Description
A selection of 14 handwritten recipes which belonged to Alice Bridge, cook to the Isherwoods at Marple Hall. Two are written on Marple Hall headed notepaper, another on the back of an unused invoice belonging to her husband, Harry Bridge, sanitary engineer of 23 Church Lane, Marple. The recipes include coquilles of fish. simnel cake, damson wine, rhubarb jam and rice pudding. On the back of one is written "Don't lose these, they are 200 years old or more and I have won prizes with them".
