The range of time over which the cuttings have been saved is from 1989 to 2017 although not for every year. There is information available for 1989, 1990-1992, 1995 -1997, 1999 - 2009, 2011 -2017
Since 2017 cuttings have not been saved. There does not seem to be a reason why in some years there are several cuttings related to the event and in some years there is only one item. The factor referred to most often is the weather.
The 2022 collection of cuttings includes an article stating that the event has been running for 40 years and it gives a brief history of the event and the people who have helped to organise it.
In 2007 there are comments that the Carnival may not go ahead because of a lack of support from people to organise the event. This is raised again in 2009 and 2016 when the organising committee have put out a plea for volunteers to come and help.
