Photocopy of photographs of datestone with inscription "HWR 1612" Donated 2018.
Original date stone was donated by Jim and Christine Raymond found in their garden when they moved to 38 Norbury Drive, Marple in 1999.
They were told that it might be connected to Marple Hall but there is no evidence and the initials don’t tie in.
The stone is 18” x 12” x 7” deep and is very heavy.
It is being stored, for safekeeping, at 100 The Ridge, Marple and further research is to be carried out.
