Description

Two photocopies of handwritten statement with notes from Cheshire Records Office stating :
"We have no hospital at all in the Towne of Marple as for the Settled Charity in what was left by George Barnes(late of Marple aforesaid, Yeoman) to the poor Marple children born and residing in the said Township. Apprentices, yearly the sum of eight pounds; and also Twenty Shilling yearly to the ;Minister" Subscribed by us Robert Berks, Minister & Ottiwell Heginbotham Chappel Warden.
Typed transcript & notes to say that Robert Berks was the curate of Marple Chapel of Ease in 1697 and George Barnes set up his charity in 1699.
