Altrincham History Society

Altrincham History Society exists to further the study of the Altrincham area and to enable such research to be communicated to the public. Members enjoy a series of talks through the year, with occasional visits, and are encouraged to become active in researching topics related to the history of the area.

Meetings are in Altrincham Town Hall Council Chamber on Tuesdays at 7:30pm, doors open 7pm, until 9pm.

Furness Vale Local History

The Local History Society of Furness Vale, Derbyshire, research and record Furness Vale's past. An archive of documents, maps and photographs is maintained, a product of many years research. We hold meetings on the first Tuesday of each month except July and August. A guest speaker usually presents an illustrated talk of local or regional interest.

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month (not July or August) and commence at 7.30pm. They are held in the function room at the Furness Vale Social Club, which is on Yeardsley Lane and just behind The Imperial Palace Restaurant.

New Mills Local History Society

The aims of the Society are:

• To promote study and research into the history of the New Mills area.
• To convey the history of the New Mills area to a wider audience.
• To secure the preservation and protection of items of interest relating to the history of the New Mills area.
  
  

Meetings are held in New Mills Town Hall (SK22 4AT), starting at 7:45pm.

Visitors are welcome (£1.00) and refreshments are available at the end of the meeting.

Poynton Local History Society

Meetings are held at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of the month at The Centre, Park Lane, Poynton, SK12 1RB.

We usually have an outing to a place of historical interest in May or June.

Subscriptions £12 per annum:  Visitors £3 per evening.
